Flower Show Rules


1. Closing date for receipt of Entry Forms: THURSDAY 27th August at 8p.m. Space permitting, additional entries may be accepted at the discretion of the Entries Secretary, on Saturday between 9 a.m. and 10 a.m. at double entry fees.

2. Entries will be accepted at the Village Hall on THURSDAY 27th August, 6 p.m. - 8 p.m. when Entry Cards will be issued. Entry forms will be accepted by post to the Entries Secretary but no responsibility can be accepted for non-receipt. Entry Cards for postal entries will be held at the desk for collection on Saturday.

3. All exhibits must be staged between 8.00 and 10.30 a.m. on Saturday and each must be accompanied by an Entry Card.

4. All Fruit, Vegetables and Flowers must be grown by the exhibitor (except classes 69-77).

5. All other entries must be made, taken or produced by the exhibitor.

6. In Sections A and B, only one entry per cultiver, per entrant.

7. All Children's entries must be the unaided work of the child.

8. Root Vegetables should be trimmed to within 3 inches of the crown. The appearance will be enhanced if the trimmed roots are tied.

9. Paper plates, supplied by the committee, must be used.

10. All exhibits to remain staged until 4.15p.m.

11. Exhibits not claimed by 4.30 p.m. will be auctioned.

12. The Judges may withhold prizes, at their discretion, if the exhibits are not of sufficient standard, or there are less than three in any class.

13. The Committee cannot hold itself responsible for any loss or damage to any article.

14. All Prize money and Cups will be presented at the end of the Show except for Section H. Children will be informed when their prize Money is available for collection.
